Rooms Hotel Batumi review (stay by the Black Sea)

Rooms Hotel Batumi is ideal if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Georgia’s Black Sea city.

The boutique luxury brand Rooms Hotels has been making waves on the Georgian tourist scene for a few years now, with its flagship hotel opening in Kazbegi in 2012 – it was the first luxury hotel in the Caucasus Mountains at the time.

It’s a Georgian-owned brand, with aspirations to open in cities across the world.

Since 2012, hotels have opened in Tbilisi, Kokhta and now Batumi on the Black Sea coast.

On our Georgia trip, we stayed in Rooms Hotel Batumi for two nights and absolutely adored the boutique rooms, chic interiors and wonderful food!

Here’s my full review. We were kindly hosted by Rooms Hotel Batumi, but all opinions remain my own.

Arrival at Rooms Hotel Batumi

We arrived in Batumi after a long journey from the Eastern Turkish city of Kars, where we wound down toward the Black Sea before crossing the border.

We drove from the border to the city of Batumi, Rooms Hotel glowing as we drove toward it.

“Welcome!” the receptionist greeted us cheerily. We were given our keycard and ushered up to our room on the fourth floor by a bellboy.

Rooms in the Rooms Hotel Batumi

The room we were in was one of their Signature King Rooms with a Sea View; we felt like it was more like a suite, with closet space (and a HUGE mirror) as we walked in, which led out to a large crescent-shaped sofa, table with fruit and wine and a flat-screen tv. At the other end of the room sat an incredibly comfy super king sized bed.

On one side of the room, three windows opened out to small balconies, which looked over the road below and ultimately the sea.

The other side of the room led to the bathroom, which was part wet-room with a rain shower, sink and toilet.

From the lighting to the minimalist furniture, the entire room exuded a chic vibe and was relaxing from the moment we entered to our departure!

Other rooms on offer that the hotel include The Corner Suite Old Town View (which has circular beds!) or the Cabin Bunk rooms which have bunk beds. All is decorated in the signature classic modern style.

Like most paces in Georgia, prices are decent, too!

Rooms Hotel Batumi restaurant

We enjoyed our bottle of Georgian wine (if you didn’t know, Georgia has one of the best wine cultures in the world), and headed down to The retro Rubber Duck Diner, which is the hotel’s restaurant.

The eatery served up a range of dishes – while we would have loved to enjoy some Georgian food, they don’t actually serve much in the way of authentic cuisine here – but the dishes were incredibly tasty.

We shared onion rings with kimchi to start, and I enjoyed a sweet potato gnocchi with kale, sour cream and caramelised onions, while my partner had a vegetarian burger and fries.

The next day, I tried out stuffed aubergine served with a waffle (which was a strange combination!).

Breakfast is also served in the restaurant as well.

I was delighted to see they had soy milk for my cappuccino and did a vegan porridge, which set me up well for the day! My partner enjoyed eggs benedict with muffins.

Rooms Hotel Batumi facilities

Along with the Rubber Duck Diner, Rooms Hotel boasts a huge lobby with a fully stocked bar, ample seating areas and funky record covers adorning the walls.

There’s even a shop where you can purchase memorabilia!

The rooms wrap around a lush green courtyard, so each of the corridors overlooks the trees.

There’s no spa or gym; which would be an even better addition to the hotel!

While the hotel is a modern, fun boutique hotel, it’s also perfect for business. Meeting rooms can accommodation 120 theatre–style, 50 cabaret-style or 36 boardroom-style. They’re spacious and the hotel provides flip charts, water, pens and notebooks.

Rooms Hotel Batumi location

Rooms Hotel is in prime location in Batumi, just steps from the water (perfect for the summer months) and a stone’s throw from the city centre.

You can easily walk to all attractions like Alphabet Tower, Europe Square and the bottom of the Argo Cable Car.

So, are you ready to book your stay at Rooms Hotel?

If you’re looking for somewhere modern to stay in Batumi, there’s nowhere better than Rooms Hotel.

This glorious slice of luxury just by the Black Sea is perfect for a holiday, overnight stay or business trip.

Batumi’s definitely somewhere worth visiting, and the swanky Rooms Hotel is just one reason why!
